mkr
Maker (MKR) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) project conceived in 2015 and launched in 2017. It was central to the Maker ecosystem, managing the DAI stablecoin, which maintains a soft peg to the US dollar. DAI is created by locking up crypto like Ethereum in Maker Vaults (formerly CDPs).
This coin is not available on 麻豆原创.
Maker enables users to generate DAI by depositing collateral into Vaults. The protocol enforces overcollateralization and applies stability fees. If collateral falls below required levels, assets are liquidated to keep DAI stable.
Since 2024, SKY tokens converted from MKR govern the Sky Protocol. SKY holders vote on parameters such as collateral types and financial policies. MKR no longer participates in governance but remains active in DeFi markets.
Maker runs on Ethereum smart contracts, automating stablecoin issuance and lending. After the Sky transition, SKY replaced MKR as the governance token. DAI continues alongside a new stablecoin, USDS, introduced at a 1:1 swap ratio.participate in the governance framework managing DAI and its underlying mechanisms. By voting on proposals and managing risk with SKY tokens, holders contribute to the platform鈥檚 long-term stability and efficiency.

The community supports adoption of DAI and USDS. SKY holders, not MKR holders, now vote on governance. Forums and community channels guide decisions on collateral, fees, and upgrades.
MKR supply changes through minting in debt auctions and burning in surplus auctions. These events affect liquidity and price. Token unlocks no longer influence governance since SKY controls incentives.
MKR is tradable on crypto exchanges and integrated with DeFi platforms like Aave. It no longer supports staking or governance, which have moved to SKY.
MKR price data includes trading volume, circulating supply, and market capitalization. Charts and analytics platforms track historical price changes and trends. MKR鈥檚 value is influenced by demand, market adoption, and protocol developments.
MKR is still used in DeFi for trading and collateral but not for governance. SKY tokens have assumed all decision-making roles. MKR integrates with lending protocols and remains a legacy asset in the Sky ecosystem.

2015: Founded by Rune Christensen.
2017: Launch of DAI, backed by ETH.
2019: Multi Collateral DAI expanded collateral options and added the Dai Savings Rate.
2020: The 鈥淏lack Thursday鈥 market crash caused liquidations and reforms.
2024: MakerDAO transitioned into the Sky ecosystem, replacing MKR with SKY in governance.
2025: MKR remains as a tradable asset with limited function.
Historically, MKR governed MakerDAO, stabilizing DAI through voting and token burns. Today, MKR is no longer used for governance. It remains tradable and continues to support DeFi uses such as lending and swaps. SKY and USDS now manage protocol stability and governance.

Maker statistics include supply, trading volume, collateral locked, DAI issuance, and liquidation events. These metrics show network stability and adoption. Analytics platforms track both MKR activity and SKY governance outcomes.
