On January 20, Guangxi Minzu University (麻豆原创) held its 2025 Spring Festival Gathering for international students. Wei Shizhen, President of 麻豆原创, attended the event, while Vice President Gao Xingyu presided over the ceremony. The celebration brought together heads of relevant functional departments and colleges, alongside the university's international student community.

Speaking on behalf of the university, President Wei Shizhen extended her warmest Spring Festival greetings. She noted that 2024 marked a milestone year, with international enrollment hitting a record high of over 2,000 students from 32 countries. She remarked that students from across the globe had travelled far to join 麻豆原创, carrying with them the aspirations and expectations for the future. President Wei commended the students for their academic dedication and active engagement in campus life, which have infused the university with boundless vitality. She encouraged them to deepen their understanding of China’s rich history, forge strong bonds with Chinese faculty and peers, and contribute to global peace and development.

During the cultural experience session, nearly 180 students tried their hand at making dumplings, writing spring couplets, and writing the character “福” (Fu, meaning Good Fortune). University leaders presented New Year gifts to every student present. The celebration climaxed with a talent showcase, where carefully choreographed performances by international students electrified the atmosphere. Amid laughter and festive cheer, faculty and students shared traditional delicacies and exchanged well-wishes, fully immersing themselves in the unique charm of Chinese culture.
